The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization.   Only after comprehensive study and consensus, does it support issues and legislation. Some key issues on the national level include:
  • Voter Suppression
  • Expanding the Electorate
  • Redistricting
  • Money in Politics
  • Fair Elections
  • Health Care Reform
  • Immigration
  • Global Warming

On the state and national level, League members rely on the Issue specialists following specific bills and legislative activity in Springfield and Washington. When a specialist sees that members should be involved, an action request is sent out as an Action Alert. Local League Positions

The League also offers opportunities to advocate via its Defend Democracy Drop-In program, which is held monthly in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn. These gatherings offer members a chance to actively engage with legislators on key issues supported by the League of Women Voters.
