Get Involved: Volunteer in Our Communities

Volunteer Opportunities:

Welcome! Our members make a difference in our communities. We hold events at local libraries, high schools, senior centers, farmers markets and festivals talking about the League and our mission to defend democracy and empower voters. 

At our Community Events like National Night Out and summer outdoor markets, we talk about the League’s mission and the value of membership.  With an election this November, we’ll also register voters and answer questions about the elections. 

At our Get Out the Vote / Voter Registration Events, we’ll register new voters, update registrations, help with Vote By Mail signups and answer questions about the upcoming Election.  Members are welcome to volunteer at all of our events; however, you need to attend a training session if you wish to be a Deputy Registrar and register voters.

Community / Get Out the Vote/ Registration Events:

  • Wednesday, June 24, 1:00pm – 3pm.  Assist guests at a 1776 Lecture & Tour hosted by the League.  Wheaton Library, 225 Cross Street, Wheaton. Sign up to volunteer: https://volunteersignup.org/FB38L 

  • Sunday, July 5, 9:30 – Noon. Join us for the West Chicago July 5 Parade as we celebrate our 250th Birthday! Meet at 930am at Reed Keppler Park.  1/2-mile downhill route. Sign up: https://volunteersignup.org/9PFJM  *** SIGN UP BY WED JUNE 24 as we need count of how many will be walking!***
