Why am I running for Concord Housing Authority, and what will I bring to the office?

I have had an abiding interest in affordable housing for 20 years, serving on the Town’s

Affordable Housing Committee from 2000 to 2004 and on the nonprofit Concord Housing Foundation since 2004. From 2013 until this past January I was president of the Foundation. Given vacancies on the CHA, I feel I can be of service to this agency. I would like to help theCHA expand the number of housing units owned and managed by them.

What in your opinion are the biggest challenges/issues facing the committee that you hope to serve?

Marianne Nelson is retiring as Executive Director of the Housing Authority, and the most important and immediate need is to select the best qualified successor. A search committee is working through about 30 applicants, and will bring the top 3 to the Housing Board for our choice.
