Joining the League is a great way to play an active role in your community and in our democracy! Everyone is welcome--membership in the League of Women Voters is open to anyone 16 years of age or older. When you join the League of Women Voters of Metro St. Louis, you are also joining the national and state Leagues. All Leagues in the country are now using a new online membership system. If you have problems with the new system, please league [at] lwvstl.org (contact us).
You may pay the recommended annual dues of $75 or choose any amount over $20, with 33% of your dues payment going to LWVUS, 47% percent going to LWVMO, and 20 percent going to LWVSTL.
To join the League, click the big Join/Renew button below to access the League's payment system, known as the LWV Member Portal on ChapterSpot. This button takes you to a spot in the portal that is unique to the Metro St. Louis League.
After completing the membership process, you will have a chance to make a tax-deductible donation to LWVSTL. Watch your email for a Member Interest Survey to help us match your interests to our work to educate and empower voters!

Membership Dues
- Individual members: $75 per year is the recommended, or pay what you can ($20 minimum)
- You can add a second member at the same rate as the first membership. Each will need to provide a unique email address.
- Life members: In appreciation of their dedication to democracy, Life Members (members for more than 50 years) are exempt from membership dues.
Making Dues Payments Online
- Online, you can pay by credit card, debit card, or direct bank transfer (ACH transfer).
- You will receive an online confirmation and an email receipt for your payment. NOTE: Only the LWVSTL portion of your membership dues will be tax-deductible. The receipt will show the 20% of your dues going to LWVSTL and can serve as your tax receipt.
- Your membership dues payment will show up as three transactions on your account - one each to LWVSTL, LWVMO, and LWVUS. You will be a member of all three!
- Keep things simple by automatically renewing each year! Just select auto-renewal when you are paying your dues.
Making Dues Payments By Check
It is preferable that you pay online, but those who don’t have an email address or use the internet are welcome to make out a check to “LWVUS” for their dues. However, send it to LWV of Metro St. Louis at 8706 Manchester Rd., Suite 104, St. Louis, MO 63144. Please complete and attach this LWVSTL Membership Information Form. New or renewing members should indicate dues on the memo line of their check. If you want to make a donation beyond your dues, you need to write a second check payable to LWVSTL.
Please follow this procedure; if you forget, it makes extra work for our staff and they may have to contact you.
Making Donations
- Do you want to make an extra donation in addition to paying your dues? Thanks, we appreciate it!
- You will have the option to make a direct donation to LWVSTL when paying your dues online, or you can use the Donate page on this website any time of year.
- Donations also may be made by check payable to LWVSTL and mailed to 8706 Manchester Rd., Suite 104, St. Louis, MO 63144. Please note Donation in the memo line of your check.
- All donations to LWVSTL are fully tax-deductible, whether made on the LWV Member Portal or directly.
Renewing Your Membership
Did you come to this page to renew your membership? That's fantastic! Navigate to our League's place on the LWV Member Portal. (It's the same as using the big blue button above or the menu button that says Join or Renew Your Membership.) Once there, you will need to log in using the email address the League uses for you. You will be sent an email with a verification code in it, and you then enter the code into the form. You do not need a password.
Once you are in the ChapterSpot system, you will receive an email when it is time to renew, and if you have signed up for auto-renew, you will receive a reminder that your membership is automatically renewing.
If you do not have an email address or use the internet, you can renew by sending a check payable to LWVUS, but mail or bring it to the St. Louis Metro League's office, 8706 Manchester Rd., Suite 104, St. Louis MO 63144.
More About the LWV Member Portal
From the portal you can manage your membership, change your contact information, or view your payment history. The portal is in use nationwide, and friends can join any League by accessing the LWV member portal through the link or by using the orange button at the bottom of the menu. The blue button on this page or the Join or Renew menu item on this page also goes to the portal, but it saves you a step if you are joining the League of Women Voters of Metro St. Louis.
