Historian Martha Kohl will speak to the League about civics in education.  
 

Martha Kohl is a Historian at the Montana Historical Society. She received both her BA and MA in History from Washington University in St. Louis. She heads up the Montana Historical Society’s outreach to educators and served as project manager and lead historian for Montana: Stories of the Land, the Society's middle-school Montana history textbook and the web-based projects  “Montana’s Women’s History Matters” and “Montana and the Great War,” all three of which received Awards of Merit from AASLH. She has written articles for many history journals, including Montana The Magazine of Western History, is the editor of Beyond Schoolmarms and Madams: Montana Women’s Lives published in 2015, and is a contributing author to The History of Montana in 101 Objects, published in 2021She is also the author of I Do: A Cultural History of Montana Weddings, which was published in 2011.
