The Role of Active Citizenship

Improving our community begins with understanding it.  How do our local governments work?  What about local taxes?  Where does the money come from and where does it go?  How can we act to improve our communities in the Gallatin Valley?

Talking about local government organization and budgets:

Jim Doar, Gallatin County Administrator
Carson Taylor, former Bozeman Mayor

Providing examples of successful community involvement:

Maddy Pope, Trust for Public Land Project Director, The Story Mill Community Park

Heather Grenier, HRDC Chief Executive Officer/President, The Warming Center

The role of Citizen Advisory Boardsto be addressed by all four speakers

This Friday Forum is presented in collaboration with the League of Women Voters and sponsored by MSU Wonderlust and the Bozeman Public Library Foundation.  Friday Forums are free and open to the public.  We hope you’ll join us.
