The Time Is NOW -- A Crisis Is Looming and We Can't Wait!

Learn about the upcoming bond election at a public forum on Thursday, August 21 at 6:00 pm sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Helena Area. The forum is at Lewis & Clark Library, 120 S. Last Chance Gulch, Helena.

Save our Tradition of Excellence: School Facilities Matter will help voters understand why we must act now to pass the high school and elementary bonds, which will fund rebuilding Helena High School and Kessler Elementary, and make critical upgrades to Capital High School, PAL (Project for Alternative Learning), and the district's central kitchen.

  • PAL teacher, Ryan Cooney, will discuss the importance of public education to our community.
  • District facilities manager Todd Verrill will give an overview of the facilities’ current conditions and the potential for the future.
  • State Representative Luke Muszkiewicz will give the legislative and economic perspective.
  • School Board Chair Jennifer McKee will explain why we can’t keep kicking the can down the road.

This forum will give voters an opportunity to learn more and have their questions answered before voting.  Ballots for the September 9th municipal election will be mailed on August 22.  Visit https://vote411.org/montana to learn more about the bond issue and the candidates for the municipal primary election.

Helena Civic TV will record the forum.
