Former Montana Governor Marc Racicot and Mae Nan Ellingson to discuss civic participation and legislative reforms

As we head deeper into the 2024 election season, former Montana Governor Marc Racicot and former Montana Constitutional Convention Delegate Mae Nan Ellingson, in partnership with League of Women Voters Montana, will be hosting a town hall event, titled Preserving our Democracy: Action Items for Every Montana Citizen.

The roundtable takes place on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Carroll College in Helena, and the conversation will be moderated by Jacob Linfesty, President and co-founder of the Montana Transparency Project.

With dark money and out-of-state spending surging ahead of November casting a dark shadow around our elections, the town hall participants will bring their years of wisdom together to discuss how Montanans can engage in purposeful action to ensure their voices are heard this election season.

Included in the discussion will be community-level opportunities for civic participation, nonpartisan work happening across Montana to improve our democratic system, and federal legislation as the remedy for challenges facing our democratic institutions today – including the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
