A New Congressional District Map for Montana

On November 12, 2021, the Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission adopted the map that divides our state into two congressional districts (see below). The district boundaries define where federal funds for schools, hospitals, roads, etc. are distributed and all of these have an impact on the citizens of Montana. These new districts will be used in the Congressional elections in 2022 and through 2030 until new districts are drawn for the 2032 election using data from the 2030 census.

Montana Congressional Districts Map

Campaigns are already underway for the primary election in June 2022 and the general election in November 2022 that will elect two Montana citizens to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives beginning in January 2023.  Montana now has two Congressional districts, an eastern and a western. Candidates are now filing to run for these two seats. A candidate must live in the district in which they are running. Montana voters in each district will vote for candidates for their district in the June 2022 primary election. The candidates who win the primary will then run in the general election in November in the district in which they ran.
