April/May VOTER includes information on: Citizens of Acheivment Awards (Monday, May 28 2-4 p.m.), San Bernardino League's Annual meeting (May 22), Possible Referrendum on The Health Insurance Act of 2003, Contact Senators on Unborn Victims of Violence Act, League of Women Voters San Bernardino comments on The Lakes Environmental Impact Report, Acquiring the Feb. 2004 California VOTER, Vital Communities Program (April), 4th and 5th District Interim Supervisors Appointed by Board, Finding information on California's Budget, the Electoral College, and Stealth Legislation.
THE VOTER: JUNE 2004
May/June 2004 VOTER includes information on: the May 15 forum on the balance between civil rights and national security, the May 22 annual meeting (this one will include the Honorable Patrick Morris speaking on the new Mental Health Court), the May 17 workshop on the proposed San Bernardino city charter, the June 12 program on policy items that were last minute additions to the 2004 federal Omnibus Budget Act, the continued planning for electronic billboards on Rt. 30 (even after the proposal was voted down by City Planning Commissioners), LWVC ballot recommendations, the proposed 2004 California budget, and more.
THE VOTER: SEPTEMBER 2004
September 2004 VOTER includes information on: Shauna Clark (former San Bernardino city administrator) speaks on forms of municipal government; LWVC supports Proposition 59 (Access to Government Information), Proposition 72 (Overturn Amendments to Health Care Coverage Requirements) and opposes Proposition 69 (DNA database funding - would abridge citizen privacy). This issue also reports on the Annual Meeting and offers criteria for evaluating ballot propositions.
