Join LWV or Renew Your Membership
Joining the League is a great way to play an active role in your community and in our democracy! Everyone is welcome - membership in the League of Women Voters is open to anyone 16 years or older.
Your LWV of the Columbia Area (LWVCA) membership includes membership in LWV of South Carolina (LWVSC) and the LWV of the United States (LWVUS).

We encourage you to join and renew online. This video gives a step-by-step overview of the join/renew form.
- The preferred payment option is a direct bank transfer (ACH transfer), which minimizes fees. You’ll need your financial institution's routing number and your account number.
- You also have the option to pay by credit or debit card.
- Keep things simple by automatically renewing each year! Just select auto-renewal when you are paying your dues.

League Membership Dues
- Membership dues are on a sliding scale, so it has never been easier to join the League and participate in this vital work. Dues are split between the LWVCA (20%), LWVSC (47%) and LWVUS (33%) and paid annually, renewable on your Join Date anniversary each year.
- Individual members: $75 per year is the recommended amount, or pay what you can ($20 minimum).
- You can add a second member ($150 total for both recommended, $40 for both minimum), but each member will need a unique email address.
- Life members: In appreciation of their dedication to democracy, Life Members (members for more than 50 years) are exempt from membership dues.
