News

Every voter should be able to have an easy and efficient experience at the polls. There are several ways YOU can help make that happen, including being a Poll Worker, an Election Poll Monitor, or part of the Voter Concierge Corps. However you decide to get involved, do something today to help ensure our elections are accessible and run as smoothly as possible.

Due to various power outages and other storm-related issues, this evening's meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow. We will convene on Tuesday, August 6 at 7:30 PM.

We have been meeting, now it's time to mobilize! The 2024 elections are heating up fast and if we work together, we can accomplish a lot! We need to make sure our community has the information needed to vote in the August and November elections, and we need to mobilize them! Please let us know if you are able to assist in this effort with direct action as we plan for ways for everyone to get involved through a collaborative effort canvassing our neighborhoods! Can you attend a virtual training on Monday, August 5th, at 7pm to learn how you can start talking to voters about the upcoming August 20th election?

Action Alerts

Did you know that the school board contest and Gainesville city commission contest will be decided by the primary election on August 20? Since those positions are non-partisan and there are only two candidates in each of those races, the one with majority vote will take the contest and the position. So, it’s really important to vote in the primary election...

Millhopper Branch Library

This League at the Library event will take place at the Millhopper Branch Library and will be an outdoor event. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to man the table.

During LWVAC's 2024 Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Campaign for the 2024 Election Season, the Voter Services team is organizing multiple Alachua County Library tabling events. The goal is to have a table at each of the 12 libraries once a month for 2 hours at peak times until November. We hope to increase League visibility and engage with current and potential voters, especially young people.
