Thanks to the hard work of our leaders, members, partnering voting rights organizations around the state, and state legislators, there's a lot to look forward to this year!

  • Connecticut finally offers early in-person voting, joining 46 other states that enjoy some form of early voting.

  • Connecticut boasts the most comprehensive state-level voting rights act in the nation. “An Act Concerning State Voting Rights in Recognition of John R. Lewis (CTVRA)” was signed into law last June, expanding voter access and strengthening protections against voting discrimination for communities of color throughout the state.

  • The presidential preference primary date has been moved to the first Tuesday in April, which is April 2 in 2024.

  • Voters in the November general election will decide on a constitutional amendment to allow for no-excuse absentee voting. You will see the following question on the ballot: "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"
