Join us for a free event featuring the powerful documentary film "Join or Die".  "Join or Die", an award-winning documentary based on the research of the eminent social scientist Robert Putnam, asks three important questions:   What makes democracy work? Why is American democracy in crisis? What can we do about it? Mr. Putnam argues that social networks build social capital which is significant to both individual and societal health and well-being. This film is about finding ways to combat isolation, division and the disempowerment of today. A discussion following the film asks if increasing membership and involvement with clubs and organizations will build community and ultimately help establish a stronger democracy? 

 

The event will include viewing of the Join or Die documentary (1 hour 40 minutes), a post viewing moderated discussion, light refreshments and an opportunity to share an evening with others who have a desire to make our world a better place and meet some new people!
