2020 Pennsylvania Elections

Important Dates to Remember

First day to circulate and file nomination petitions Jan 28
Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions Feb 18
First day to circulate and file nomination papers Feb 19
Last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed nomination petitions Mar 4

Last day to register before primary

Applicants may either return their application in person or it must be received by mail by the county Board of Elections in Doylestown by the deadline. Previously counties accepted applications postmarked by the deadline but that is NO LONGER permitted. 

May 18
Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot for the primary May 26
Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted mail-in and civilian absentee ballots for the primary (must be received in Doylestown by 8 P.M.) June 2
GENERAL PRIMARY Polls are open from 7 A.M. to 8 P.M. June 2
First day to register after primary June 3
Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (submitted for delivery no later than 11:59 P.M. on June 1) June 9
Last day to circulate and file nomination papers Aug 3
Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination papers Aug 10
Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at the primary Aug 10

Last day to REGISTER before the November election *

Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted mail-in and civilian absentee ballots (must be received in Doylestown by 8 P.M.)* Nov 3

Note: All dates in this calendar are subject to change without notice.  *We strongly recommend that voters register as soon as possible.  If voting by mail-in or absentee ballot, we strongly recommend that voters apply for those as soon as possible and return the voted ballots as soon as possible.
