Acting President Monica Weninger sent off letters to the editors of these local newspapers this week: The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Morning Call, The Intelligencer, The Courier Times, The Bucks County Herald, The Perkasie News-Herald and the Upper Bucks Free Press.  Here is the body of Monica's letter:

Voters and those eligible to vote – your voice is more important than ever before. Recent changes to our voting laws in Pennsylvania have made voting more accessible and safe. Mail-in ballots are now an option for voters. No excuse is required in order to apply. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot for the June 2nd Primary Election is now May 26. The deadline for eligible citizens to register to vote has been extended to May 18, including those who will be 18 by the day of the election, those who are residents of Pennsylvania and their voting district for at least 30 days prior to the election and those who are United States citizens at least 30 days before the election. The League of Women Voters encourages you to visit Vote411.org which provides tools to register to vote, check your registration status and is continually being updated with important information such as polling place closures or relocations.
Don’t wait. Those who have not, should register to vote. Everyone should check their voter registration status. Take advantage of the safety and convenience of mail-in ballots and apply today.
