Program Planning 2023 -2024 SPEAK UP! TAKE ACTION!

program planning 2023 - 2024 Speak Up Take Action
Saturday, January 28, 2023 - 10:00am

What policy issues are you passionate about? Where do you want the League to do more? LWVBC annual program planning is your opportunity to express your views and steer our future. It is also where we can discuss which issues we want the State League to focus on for the 2023-2025 biennium following the State Convention this summer.

Program planning is fundamental to the League as a grassroots organization. In League lingo, Program is a sweeping term that refers to everything from the positions we’ve adopted, to the studies we undertake, to the activities we choose to pursue. The Program Planning process is how we choose those issues and our method of deciding which public policy issues we should focus on for community education and advocacy. Program planning affords League members the opportunity to determine our League’s direction and priorities in the coming year and to influence our state League as well. The program planning process is your voice!

Join us via Zoom on Saturday January 28, 2023, when we’ll be discussing League policy and positions at the national, state, and local level. Where should the League focus its energy over the next year? Where should LWVPA focus its work over the next two years? What are the issues of concern to us here in Bucks County? Where is there a need for legislative activity and other advocacy, both in Bucks County and Harrisburg?

As you consider the local and state issues that concern you most, please review:

In keeping with the League's focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), League members are also asked to consider the issues from the perspective of their impact on underrepresented individuals and communities.

More information about the event will be posted here in the coming weeks.

We look forward to seeing you on the 28th!
