Voter security and improved voter access are on the minds of all of us as we approach the Primary Election on April 23, 2024.  Never again can we stand still and not be prepared for those who might seek to undermine “honest and fair” elections.  We need to inform, inspire, and encourage greater participation in the process.  Reaching out to the youth populations has become a very important project because they are the future.  We want to register more of them and we want to help them become informed voters.

To help accomplish our goals, the League of Women Voters of Bucks County is sponsoring a Webinar that addresses these issues.  We will have four guest speakers discussing various aspects of concern:

  • Tim Brennan, PA State Representative of 29th District will discuss the legislative process to introduce a bill and the most effective ways for voters to advocate for a bill.
  • Thomas Quinn, Director of Education and Policy, PA Youth Vote who will discuss actual current House bills highlighting the importance of the bills.  He will share plans for advocating for these bills and encouragement for coming out and supporting them.
  • Krystle Knight, Pennsylvania Voter ID Coalition Coordinator, Vote Riders will cover    Voter ID Laws and the impact of disenfranchising voters. Advocating ideas on behalf of the fundamental right to vote will also be covered.
  • Jean Weston, President of League of Women Voters of Bucks County will discuss the topic of Election Security in Bucks County. She will share how the officials at our local Board of Elections keep our votes safe and maintain election integrity
