Delaware County Naturalization Ceremony will take place at the Delaware County Courthouse in Media on December 11, 2024 at 7:00 PM. The League of Women Voters of Radnor Township has been invited by the presiding Judge to be present at the naturalization ceremony to give each new citizen a packet of information about voting.

Election Hero Day is a nonpartisan, national celebration recognizing the tremendous contributions that election officials, their staff, and poll workers make to ensure a safe, secure voting experience for all Americans. Taking place on November 4, 2024 – the day before Election Day – nonprofits, business leaders, brands, public officials, and more will unite to honor the election heroes in our communities.

The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania and League of Women Voters of Delaware County* are hosting a special FREE presentation concerning Restrictive Laws Affecting Asians in the USA: Past, Present, & What’s Coming on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Radnor Memorial Library (Winsor Room), 114 W Wayne Ave., Wayne PA.

The presenter is Texas State Representative Gene Wu (Asian American), who has traveled from Texas to Pennsylvania to share critical insights on this topic. He will discuss the historical and ongoing legal challenges faced by Asian communities in the U.S. and explores how past laws continue to shape the present—and what we may face in the future.

An open discussion and light lunch will follow the presentation.

National Voter Education Week

National Voter Education Week is October 7-11, 2024 a nonpartisan national civic holiday and voter education campaign. During this week of interactive education, voters have the opportunity to find their polling location, understand their ballot, make a plan to vote, and inspire others to get involved. Together, we can help voters overcome common barriers to become confident voters and ambassadors of voting in their own communities for every election.

The League of Women Voters is a partner with National Voter Education Week organizers and our League will have volunteers in a variety of locations throughout Delaware County helping citizens register to vote plus provide voter information about the election process. The League of Women Voters is a trusted messenger in helping people in our community cast their ballots with confidence by participating in National Voter Education Week.

Join Radnor Memorial Library and the League of Women Voters of Radnor Township on Sunday, October 6 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM for a timely screening of a 1997 satirical comedy, Wag the Dog, followed by a discussion moderated by Cathy Yungmann, Communications Professor Emerita, Cabrini University. The screening will be held in the Winsor Room on the lower level Radnor Memorial Library 114 W Wayne Ave., Wayne PA 19087.

The American Library Association (ALA) and the League of Women Voters announced a new partnership to educate and empower voters in 2024 as part of their campaign to equip libraries to engage with voters. This program will promote civil discourse that will remain respectful of individuals of varying opinions while recognizing the importance of community engagement.
