Reimbursement funding formulas are known to penalize poor communities, and that is how RI provides funds for municipal libraries. Although legislators are sympathetic to the State/Providence League's efforts to work for change, the RI Library Funding formula remains unchanged. This has not been a priority issue for enough people in a difficult financial era. 

The Providence League completed their study in 2016 and the position was adopted by the State League by concurrence in 2017. After 5 years, it was felt necessary to update our data.
