Chief Lamar Nelson of Eastern Cherokee
speaks on tribal history and archaeology
Chief Lamar Nelson, CEO and Tribal Archaeologist of the Eastern Cherokee, Southern Iroquois and United Tribes of South Carolina, will give a presentation on Saturday, August 26 from 2 to 4 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Clemson.
Chief Nelson will focus his narrative on Native American archaeology and tribal history. He will also address present and future challenges and goals of the Eastern Cherokee.
Chief Nelson has over 40 years of experience at significant archaeological sites that are 14,000 to 25,000 years old containing some of the oldest Native American artifacts found in North America; he also is a Native American historian.
All are invited to refreshments in the social room following the presentation.
