Dianne Haselton Community Service Award

Mrs. Haselton was retired from Clemson University as a research analyst in the agriculture and applied economics department, was a former member of Clemson City Counsel, was active in League of Women Voters, Elks Club of Pendleton, Clemson Child Development Center, and was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church.
Report from Dianne Haselton-commemoration committee: Frances Plotnik sent a report from the committee assigned to determine use of Dianne Haselton memorial funds: Committee recommends the establishment of a local community service award in Dianne’s name which would be awarded at the LWVOP annual meeting. Individuals in the two counties of our membership would be considered in selecting recipients. The award which would include a plaque of recognition, a year’s membership in the LWVOP — not a cash award — and a press release would continue to recognize Dianne’s service to the League and the community. This award should be revisited and re-evaluated at the end of ten years to determine its continuation.
Board agreed to accept the committee’s recommendation. It will be announced at the Annual Meeting. Next spring, in advance of Annual Meeting, Board will invite nominations for recipient of Dianne Haselton Community Service Award. A committee will be assigned to determine criteria.
