The City of Newark Mayoral candidate forum was held at 7pm on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Newark. The candidates for Mayor of Newark are Travis McDermott and Michael O'Neal.

March 26 Newark City Council District 1 Forum

The four candidates for Newark City Council District 1 are Walton Babich, Rebecca Stewart, John Suchanec and Demitri Theodoropoulos. Babich is unable to attend, but the remaining three will attend an LWVNCC candidate forum held at the Council Chambers of the Newark Municipal Center at 220 S. Main Street, at 7pm on Wednesday March 26, 2025.

Council District 1 is on the western side of Newark, between Nottingham Rd to the north and the train tracks to the south. Not sure what district you're in? Consult this City of Newark Election Polling Places and Council Districts map.

2025 City of Newark Election

The city election is to be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. A form of identification will be required of all voters. For absentee ballots, please contact the City Secretary's Office at (302) 366-7000.

Two additional council seats were open in 2025. Corinth Ford in District 2 and Dwendolyn Creecy in District 4 have no opponents running and will automatically re-assume their seats for another 2-year term.
