Blog PostThe League of Women Voters in Delaware (state and local) held close to 100 educational events during the 2024 election season. And we're getting ready to do it all over again in 2026! Help us continue to help you and your neighbors get the information you need to make informed choices in the voting booth.
Last year your support enabled us to support the community in so many ways:
- Registered and educated more than 100 young voters at area high schools and colleges.
- Helped assisted living residents apply for absentee ballots, and distributed voter education materials at local senior centers.
- Organized 10 candidate forums including Governor, Lt. Governor, 4 general assembly seats, and 3 county government offices.
- Helped the unhoused register to vote in Millsboro, Dover, and Wilmington.
- Provided the Vote411 voter guide which included 160 Delaware candidates with a response rate of 70%. 20,000 Delaware voters used Vote411 to make informed election decisions this year.
- Distributed voter education materials at many community events, including Newark Community Days, Open Streets in Wilmington, Georgetown Juneteenth.
- Registered and educated voters at many libraries and farmers markets across the state.
- Assisted the Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay in earning their Democracy badges.
- Helped assess polling places to determine their compliance with accessibility for persons with disabilities.
