In Delaware, any US citizen 18 years or older residing in the school district boundaries can vote in school board elections. You do not have to have a child in the district, or even be a registered voter. Quality education affects everyone in the community, so everyone should take an interest, learn about the candidates, and vote.
Residents can get general election information and check if their district has an election at either the Delaware Department of Elections (elections.delaware.gov) or LWV's VOTE411.org. Absentee ballots (if needed) can be requested online at Delaware's voter information portal, ivote.de.gov.
Voters are urged to become familiar with the candidates before voting at LWV's VOTE411.org, at votedelaware.org by ACLU of Delaware, or at First State Educate's firststateeducate.org/knowyourcandidates site.
On VOTE411, enter your home address to get personalized ballot information for your voting district.
