LWVDE Alternative Voting Study Consensus Meetings, April 2021

The LWVDE Alternative Voting Methodologies Study team will hold “consensus meetings” for League members to discuss a proposed new LWVDE Action Position on Electoral Systems prior to our state convention in May 2021. All league members are invited to register for one of the following online sessions:

Tues, April 20, 10 am to noon: Register
Wed, April 21, 6 to 8 pm: Register
Sat, April 24, 10 am to noon: Register

We’ll be asking the LWVDE membership, “Should the League of Women Voters of Delaware adopt its own position on electoral systems? And should that position include support for one specific alternative voting method, ranked-choice voting?” Each meeting will use breakout rooms and Zoom polling to ensure that everyone's viewpoint is heard.

Ranked-choice voting is a simple change to how we vote… voters rank the candidates in order of preference, rather than choosing just one… but it could have a huge impact on our elections.
