LWVNCC Committees

Voter Services

The LWVNCC Voter Services committee leaders are Patti Christopher and Ann Lopez. Please fill out our Voter Services Request form if you'd like to request an LWV information table at your New Castle County location or event.

Also in the area of voter service, Joyce Ford chairs the LWVNCC Candidate Forum committee, and Jill Itzkowitz leads the VOTE411 online voter guide project statewide.

Fundraising

Lorraine Botticelli chairs the LWVNCC Fundraising committee, and she is always looking for able and enthusiastic volunteers to join in this task. Funding allows the League to do its important work in the community.

Membership

Susan Mitchell and Letty Diswood lead the LWVNCC Membership committee. This committee welcomes new members to the League and keeps all members informed of League activities.

Scholarships and Youth Engagement

Each year League volunteers coordinate the scholarship application process, evaluate the entries and select the lucky winners. Many thanks to Susan Mitchell and Dick Johnson for their leadership in this area.

Susan Mitchell also leads youth engagement initiatives at local high schools and colleges.

Land Use and Transportation

The LWVNCC Land Use/Transportation committee has been chaired in past years by Peggy Schultz and Anna Quisel. However, the committee is currently seeking a new leader. This committee covers both local (NCC) and statewide concerns.

This committee keeps a watchful eye on development issues in our county, and transportation policy and open space preservation across the state. Based on a statewide study conducted by the committee, it has an ongoing commitment to advocate for improved public transit and neighborhoods characterized by walkability and bike-ability, a strong sense of place, mixed use with a broad range of housing choices, connectivity, compactness, and environmental integrity. The committee also has a particular interest in transportation and land use solutions which reduce the carbon footprint.
