National Positions

Policy positions developed by LWVUS following study and consensus can be used for advocacy at the state and local levels. These positions are detailed in a publication called Impact on Issues. It includes the official statements of position for each program area, briefly traces significant past actions and achievements, and indicates links among positions. The LWVUS public policy positions reflect the two-year Program adopted by the most recent Biennial Convention of the League of Women Voters of the United States; the "positions in brief" listed there summarize the official statements of position included in this guide. The document is updated every two years, following each biennial national convention.
