Something particularly dreadful is happening in Alachua Co about the single-member district ballot initiative. There is an aggressive misinformation campaign going to convince Black voters that local Black leaders and the NAACP are in favor of single districts. The opposite is true.  

The misinformation has been sent in mailers, and now texts have been sent and signs are placed in prominent places. Each day there seems to be another method for spreading the falsehoods. Our local Black leadership is dismayed that they are being misrepresented. Evelyn Foxx is working through the NAACP to bring a suit, but, of course, that takes time and the onslaught could well affect how people are voting on the initiative.
