Community Volunteer Opportunities:

Welcome! Our members make a difference in our communities. Check here to volunteer to register voters, to distribute voting information, to answer questions about voting, and to tell people about the League of Women Voters. We attend farmers markets, festivals, and local libraries and march in parades to defend democracy and empower voters. When you sign up to volunteer, you'll receive an email 2-3 days beforehand with additional event information.

NEWAsk Retailers to Post Election Posters. Pick a local shopping area in Carol Stream, Warrenville, West Chicago, or Winfield and ask local retailers if they would post a League Election Poster. Ask a friend to walk with you! Walk when it’s convenient for you. Lynne and Carol walked around Downtown Wheaton and 32 retailers said yes! Email/ text Melissa Nachman (mfnachman [at] gmail.com, 312-933-3147) and let her know where and when you’ll walk so we can provide a supply of English and/or Spanish posters.

NEW - Texting Young AdultsMonday, October 14, 7 – 8:30 p.m. 2nd floor, Room 2A, Wheaton Library and Monday, November 4, 7 – 8:30 p.m. 2nd floor, Study Room 9, Wheaton Library. Please bring a laptop or iPad. We’ll use League in Action software and not your personal phone numbers. Questions? Email Shawna Martell (shawna.martell [at] gmail.com).

Cantigny Naturalization Ceremony Election Information Event on Monday, November 4, 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Cantigny Park Visitors Center, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton). We will share early voting and election day information with new citizens so they feel ready to vote. (We are past deadlines and will not be able to register voters in person or online). Members at Election Information Table are asked to bring their own laptop/iPad so they can look up polling place information as well as answer questions. Greeters will hand out election information flyers, answer questions, and help people take group photos. This is a truly special event for the League! If you volunteer, you are welcome to watch the Ceremony. Volunteers will receive additional information 3-5 days before the event. Questions?
