The LWVCC Immigration Committee has been learning from speakers about action being taken in our area on immigration. We have heard from the Massachusetts League’s immigration specialist; a League member who volunteers with refugees and asylum seekers; a Concord resident who has volunteered at a detention center in Texas; and an immigration lawyer who is a member of the Needham Task Force on Immigration. The LWVCC Immigration Committee will develop immigration questions to ask Congressional and state legislative candidates and will contact immigration task forces in other towns to explore how we can work together. All League members are invited to attend.
