This year, Valentine's Day marks the 100th Birthday of the League of Women Voters. Celebrate the day by taking action on issues you care about!
The League of Women Voters was founded in 1920 during the convention of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. The convention was held just six months before the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, giving women the right to vote after a 72-year struggle. LWVCT Day of Action in New Haven, Connecticut: New Citizen Voter Registration
LWVCT partnered with the LWV New Haven and LWV of Hamden/North Haven for a successful Day of Action. They joined with Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services and volunteers from across the state to register new citizens, celebrate their participation in our democracy, and encourage them to participate in the 2020 Census.
Day of Action for Bloomfield, Connecticut:
Prepare to Power the Vote with A *FREE* Voters Workshop! On Saturday, February 8th.
Participants will learn about the history of the League of Women Voters, the online resources available for voter activism, and discuss actions to take on February 14, 2020 . Bloomfield Mayor Suzette DeBeatham-Brown will open the Workshop with welcoming remarks.
