Dating back to 1914, St. Louis’s city charter serves as the city’s constitution and plan for city government. Voters approved a new charter review commission in April 2022 that had its first meeting on Aug. 30, 2023.

The commission plans to meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 4.30pm, starting on September 6th. Meetings will be held downtown at 1520 Market St, and are open to the public. City Unit members plan to observe each meeting, so please join us!

The meetings will also be livestreamed by STL TV.

Whether the commission suggests  housekeeping changes or major policy changes, city voters will likely see charter amendments on the November 2024 ballot.
