Upcoming Special-Called Meetings
Two special-called meetings are scheduled for December 11, 2025 and January 8, 2026.
Both meetings will be held at the Central-Clemson Library, 6:00 pm, located at 105 Commons Way, Central. Because these are special-called meetings, public comments will not be taken during these sessions.
Here’s what those meetings will focus on:
-
December 11: Appeal of the book Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian and a review of proposed updates to the Board’s by-laws.
-
January 8: Nomination and election of Library Board officers and selection of committee assignments.
Why Your Advocacy Still Matters
Even though public comment won’t be part of the next two meetings, continued advocacy is more important than ever. Your presence holds Board members accountable—particularly those who have taken positions contrary to library policy—and makes it clear that the community expects responsible, policy-aligned decision-making.
Showing up, staying informed, and standing together for the freedom to read strengthens our libraries and the communities they serve.
Thank you for everything you do to support intellectual freedom and protect access to information. Your advocacy truly matters.
Stay loud. Stay informed. Defend your library.
