Understanding how our personal biases impact our understanding of misinformation
and disinformation, and how we can use that knowledge to improve the world around us.

Please join us at the Anderson County Library on May 22, 2023 from 5:30 - 7 pm at 300 North McDuffie Street in the Multipurpose Rooms B & C, Anderson, SC, to hear Lara Wrightson speak about "Lying & Tweeting & Bias, Oh My!”

Lara Wrightson is an instructor of political science at Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC. She earned a BA in political science, with double minors in history and women’s studies at Mars Hill College, an MA in political science from Appalachian State University and a MLIS in library science from the University of Alabama. Her published works include “The CNN Effect: Media Effects and US Food Aid Policy”, and a variety of articles in The Journal of Third World Studies, among others.

Her life’s work should come as no surprise, as she memorized the Preamble to the United States Constitution at the age of eight, and received her first (and only) detention in high school for being late to school on her eighteenth birthday, as she had stopped and registered to vote that morning. She lives in Anderson with her husband and daughter. Don't miss this interesting conversation with Lara.
