Your presence at the meeting plays a vital role in ensuring the Pickens County Library System remains inclusive, accessible, and supportive of free expression for all members of the community, and helps protect the fundamental right to access information without undue restriction or censorship. Your presence sends a powerful message that those seeking to control what others read do not represent the majority of the county.

It is expected that two books will be up for reconsideration action by the library board at this meeting. They are The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison and Brave Face by Shaun David Hutchinson. 

If you would like to speak at the upcoming meeting, please note that speakers are limited to 3 minutes. Sign-ups for public comment begin on Monday, March 17, 2025. The public comment period is limited to 30 minutes (although the board can vote to allow more time), so be sure to email boardclerk [at] pcls.fyi or call 864-850-7077, ext. 189, as soon as possible to request your spot on the roster.
