The biennial 2022 National Convention of the League of Women Voters was held in June. It was very successful, with both in-person and virtual attendees. The National Convention is a biennial event that serves as LWVUS's bylaws-prescribed business meeting as well as an opportunity for League members to gather for training and networking.

The League of Women Voters of the United States President Dr. Deborah Turner and CEO Virginia Kase Solomón issued a joint statement in response to the 6 – 3 Supreme Court decision of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturns the constitutional right to abortion as recognized for nearly 50 years in the landmark cases of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

We are rolling into July and the beginning of a new year for LWVDV. New Board members will be elected at the Annual Meeting. There will no July Board meeting. An Orientation/Retreat for Board/Leadership is in the planning stages.

The LWVDV Voter Services team were busy in May, with forums and outreach activities for the June 7th California Primary. Be sure to vote!
