Location
Join the League of Women Voters of North and Central South Mateo County on their summer field trip to the to the San Mateo County History Museum
Built in 1910 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Museum building features one of California’s largest stained-glass domes. The exhibits offer an opportunity to discover the San Francisco Peninsula’s past from the original Native American inhabitants to the Silicon Valley innovators of today. The museum’s exhibits are both innovative and informative.
Meet in the rotunda at 10 AM, then move to Courtroom A for a brief introduction to the museum and to the role history museums can play in fostering civic community through active participation, social trust, and commitment to the common good. After that, we will have time to explore the museum on our own.
The location is a few block walk from the Redwood City Caltrain Station. There is also street and garage parking nearby (click here for Redwood City Public Parking map).
