Leadership Positions
We are looking to fill the following leadership positions for next year's board:
Co-president: shadow the current presidend for one year to then become president
Co-VP of Program (Event PLanning): Help our VP of Program organize Program Events (less than one event per month)
Volunteer—Advocacy and Action
Want to learn how local government works and support transparency? Join the Observer Corps! Volunteers attend public meetings, take notes, and share observations with the League to help keep government open and accountable.
Meetings you can observe include: Portola Valley Council Meeting, Menlo Park Council Meeting, Atherton City Council Meeting, Woodside Council Meeting, East Palo Alto City Council, or any other you are intersted in!

November 2026 General Election Support
The 2026 ballot is still being formed, but we already know that there will ballot propositions we will oppose or support:
Statewide

Allow Public Financing of Election Campaigns Measure—support

Eliminate Successor Election at a State Officer Recall Election Amendment—support

Local

Downtown Parking Plazas Ordinance—oppose

Organizing rallies (for example, No Kings), writing letters to the editor, attend public meetings.
Volunteer—Voter Services
VOTE411 Volunteer
Help the League of Women Voters of South San Mateo County keep Vote411.org accurate and complete. The volunteer will work with the San Mateo County Coordinator for the fall general election (time frame: from August to September)
High School Outreach
Coordinate and execute voter registration presentations at Menlo-Atherton and Woodside in the spring (now) and in the fall. You will be matched with someone who has done this before!
Youth Council Advisor
The Youth Council runs voter registration drives at the high schools, takes part in voter education events, helps out at activities and community events.
Voter Registration Tables
We will have voter registration tables in April/May (for the primary) and then again in September/October (general election).
Get Out the Vote (GOTV)
GOTV will take place in May (for the primary) and October (per the general election).
