Join the Redding LWV and the Mark Twain Library for the next part of their award-winning Conversations: Truth, Myth & Democracy series featuring Pulitzer Prize-Winning author David Zucchino and Professor Daniel Barrett. Zucchino's book, Wilmington's Lie, weaves a gripping and compelling narrative that uncovers a violent and largely forgotten chapter of American history: The 1898 riot and coup in Wilmington, North Carolina. Barrett and Zucchino will discuss ways dominant groups often prevail over historical narratives, and the importance of delving into primary sources to uncover truths about events that have been misconstrued, or entirely forgotten. This is a virtual webinar hosted via Zoom. Registration is required.
