Meet the Candidates: A Greater Hartford forum for Federal, State and Local Candidates. An event where you, the voter, can find out more about candidates for elected office in Hartford and the surrounding communities.

Photographer, film producer and social justice activist Phil Portlock invites you to a virtual film viewing of his powerful and enlightening 25-minute film, “VOTING RIGHTS: THE STRUGGLE TO BE COUNTED”. With the creative use of music, powerful images and narration by his wife Pat Sloan, the film traces the long and often brutal struggle by African Americans to gain and maintain the unrestricted right to be counted at the ballot box. This program will be repeated every Sunday at 7:00 pm Eastern time through November 6, 2022.

This year on National Voter Registration Day, the League of Women Voters of Connecticut invites you to the Connecticut Capitol to get registered to vote and celebrate the women of color in the fight for voting rights both in the 19th century and today. Join us for a special plaque unveiling ceremony honoring these women and view the traveling exhibit - "The Work Must Be Done: Women of Color and Voting Rights".

Join LWV of the Bridgeport Area for a virtual panel discussion on the implication of the overturning of privacy guarantees based on the recent Supreme Court decision. Topics include the impact on rights to abortion, contraception, interracial marriage and LGBTQ rights. Registration required.
