Dr. King’s family: Martin Luther King III, Arndrea Waters King, and Yolanda Renee King–along with faith leaders, civil rights leaders, and voting rights advocates across the country– have called for us to focus on demanding voting rights legislation and access to the ballot box this year. We need to send a message to our leaders: no celebration without legislation.

The League of Women Voters of Ridgefield and Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center invite you to join them in celebrating Alice Paul Day. Ridgefield Suffragist Alice Paul was one of the most influential women in America, leading the successful fight for women's right to vote, and championing equal rights for women through most of the 20th century.

Join us on Thursday! January 6 2021 was a violent and deadly attack against all Americans – against our country, our democracy, and our freedom as voters to choose the leaders that represent us. Those who attacked our country are still hard at work attempting to silence our voices and preparing future attempts to sabotage free and fair elections and with it our democracy. This January 6, Americans across race, place, party, and background are holding vigils to say: In America, the voters decide the outcome of elections. Coming together, we can realize the promise of democracy for all of us - no matter our color, zip code, or income - so we all have an equal say in the decisions that shape our daily lives and futures.
