As part of the on-going series “Conversations,” created in partnership with the Redding League of Women Voters and the Mark Twain Library, we invite you to a virtual discussion with acclaimed historian Dr. Jelani Cobb and renowned philosopher Dr. Jason Stanley. The program will be moderated by award-winning journalist Tina Rosenberg and examines the underlying meaning of our democracy and how democracy can matter even when we have very different ideas about what it should look like.

Join a bi-partisan coalition of community groups for a virtual panel discussion with the Civil Rights heroines featuring Lisa McNair, Joanne Bland, and Dr. A. Lenora Taitt-Magubane as panelists, and we'll have Freedom Rider, Joan Browning, moderating the conversation.
This virtual panel discussion will focus on events during the Civil Rights Movement including the tragic 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Church in Birmingham and the 1965 Selma March for voting rights as well as the racial and social justice movements sweeping across our country today.
