The Lewes Public Library, the League of Women Voters of Delaware, Browseabout Books, Delaware Humanities and the League of Women Voters of Sussex County DE are co-sponsoring a discussion with author Anne Boylan on her book Votes for Delaware Women, a book-length study of the woman suffrage struggle in Delaware. Joining her in conversation will be Dr. Marlene A. Saunders.

In her book, Dr. Boylan introduces us to the courageous Delawareans working at the state and national level to win the franchise. Starting in the 1890’s, white and African-American women organized and advocated for “votes for women” at the state and national levels, culminating in a dramatic struggle in Dover in the spring of 1920 over the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

This 5 pm session on February 10, 2022 is available to attend in-person or through Zoom. Registration is through the Delaweare Libraries' libcal system: tinyurl.com/VotesForDEWomen
