State of Firsts, a film about US Representative Sarah McBride's first term in office by Optimist film studio will screen at Theatre N in Wilmington, Delaware on June 12 at 7pm.

The film follows McBride’s historic campaign to become the first openly transgender member of Congress, representing the state of Delaware. The film explores themes of leadership, representation, public service, and what it means to serve with empathy in a deeply polarized moment. You can watch the trailer here.

The League of Women Voters of Delaware (LWVDE) encourages the community to attend, as an opportunity to elevate trans voices and spark meaningful dialogue over a shared big-screen-and-popcorn experience. LWVDE does this in the spirit of equity & civic engagement. The League of Women Voters is non-partisan and does not endorse or oppose any party or candidate for office.

Tickets to the screening are available here

Organizers say they are excited to share the film with our community. They have also shared (without naming names) that there will be two special guests for a Q&A session after the film screening.
