Posted below is a letter from the Dustyn Thompson, Director of the Sierra Club, Delaware Chapter announcing, the well deserved, recognition of Peggy Schultz:
Good Evening Everyone!
It is my great privilege to announce that we have now selected our 2022 Environmental Champions and are now fully scheduled to host the ceremony at the Rose Hill Community Center off of Route Nine on Friday, September 30th, at 6:00 PM.

This year, rather than award any legislator this title, we decided to focus on the amazing work that our advocacy community has performed in Delaware over the years. We decided to look at the candidates who have been working in the environmental space as volunteers for a longer period of time and who have focused in one or more of a few key areas, namely climate change, energy, and environmental justice.
We received 19 nominations for candidates for this award. We would have loved to give one to everyone who was nominated, but for a number of reasons that was not really an option. So we narrowed it down to three based on a good number of factors.
This year, our recipients will be:
Peggy Schultz;
Dora Williams; and
John Irwin.
These three advocates have done a tremendous amount of work in Delaware for quite some time. They have consistently shown up whether that is for their communities, to support other advocates, or to make sure that the people are heard loud and clear when it matters the most. It is a great honor to work with them, as I'm sure many here would agree. I'll end my speech there and save the rest for the ceremony.
I hope you all can make it to the event. The cost of the ticket includes dinner and is set in levels to help ensure everyone is able to attend and support these wonderful advocates!
