Now, about that Annual Meeting: We held our annual meeting on June 6 via Zoom to discuss the organization's program plan for the upcoming fiscal year and to hear a presentation on offshore wind power. Martha Rothenberg and Barb Hedges-Goettl served as co-hosts, with Peggy Schultz presenting on offshore wind energy as a crucial component of Delaware's climate action strategy. The presentation covered the history of offshore wind projects, benefits including job creation and healthcare improvements, and common concerns about environmental impacts and visibility of turbines. You can view Peggy's presentation HERE.
Committee chairs then shared updates on their activities, including voter services, social policy, communications, and membership efforts. The conversation ended with a vote to approve the program plan for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, focusing on voter services, immigration issues, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and coalition building. The overall meeting presentation is available to members HERE.
