Why Get Involved?
The right to vote, and to have one's vote accurately and fairly counted, is a fundamental right of all American citizens – and one that underpins the rest of our civil liberties.
Yet barriers to voting exist everywhere in our society and impact our most marginalized communities at a disproportionate rate. From arbitrary registration deadlines to a lack of accessible voting options, to the disenfranchisement of incarcerated voters, Delaware's obstacles to the ballot box result in a less equitable and representative society for us all.
That's why our Every Vote Counts (EVC) campaign is pushing back. Join ACLU-DE staff at an upcoming EVC campaign training in Middletown or Hockessin to get involved in the fight to expand voting rights right here in Delaware.
The ACLU of Delaware is partnering with the Delaware Voting Rights Coalition (DVRC) — a strong and vibrant group of nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations that will help lead this work. LWVDE is a proud member of the DVRC.
