The Silver Tsunami and the Healthcare Workforce: What Keeps You up at Night?

Join us via Zoom on February 6 at 7:00 p.m. for an informative panel discussion among four influential leaders in Delaware’s healthcare community. The panel discussion will provide context you’ll want in order to participate in the April 9th in-person League Day program.

Panelists: Tim Gibbs, Christopher E. Otto, Sue Getman, and Cherly Heiks

Panelist bios can be found on this flyer: League Day 2024 Health flyer

During this 90-minute discussion, we will examine Delaware’s healthcare workforce challenges arising from the rapid and ongoing influx of seniors into Delaware (“the Silver Tsunami”).  Each panelist, and the moderator, presents a brief overview of his or her specialty area, what most keeps them up at night, and initiatives they’re working on.  The panel discussion will close with recommendations for legislative action that will improve the healthcare workforce for Delaware seniors.

Successful Delaware: Healthy, Housed, and Educated

Join us this spring for League Day 2025, which comprises three Zoom events and one in-person event, all of which will be open to the public. These programs will offer your chance to help Delaware thrive by championing legislative solutions for shortages of healthcare workers, affordable housing and quality early care and education.

Access to affordable housing and early care and education, and accessible healthcare, are foundational for upward mobility and a healthy, economically stable population. When these elements are in place, individuals and families improve their circumstances, and the state attracts a quality workforce. Together, these factors combine to improve economic outcomes for all Delawareans and for the state.

2025 League Day Zoom events offer insights into key priorities in each area, as working experts see them. The in-person event focuses on the legislative opportunities each priority provides.
