The ALICE population is living below the basic cost-of-living threshold, on a bare-minimum budget that allows for only a very modest living in each community. ALICE stands for: Asset Limited, Income Constrained and Employed.
These individuals who are our neighbors are often over looked but ALICE is addressing their
issues. Kim Morgan, CEO of the United Way of Western CT informed us what she has leaned about this population across the country and in her home state of Ct through their project Prosperi-
Key. Courtney Edgcomb, the CEO of the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties also joined us to
provide local data. This is an eye-opening look into the hard working citizens who work hard
and find life is still very challenging.
